Farrakhan followers, press have minor 'stand-off' in Obama's neighborhood

An interesting “stand-off’’ of sorts developed outside a barbecue President Obama was attending at a friend’s house Saturday night between followers of Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan on one side and members of the press and the U.S. Secret Service guarding the president on the other. Many of my readers will recall how I stated during the election that Obama's largest boasters originated from the Black Muslim community. I still recall how they would stand at the voting booths and harass the Republican voters as they went in. Many being turned away. But life went on as usual and he got elected.,farrakhan-press-stand-off-053010.article#

He's venturing into dangerous territory.

White House video blog offers an inside view

You didn't see this on CNN or Fox News or NBC: President Obama awkwardly introducing Chile's president, Sebastián Piñera, to the Netherlands' prime minister, Jan Peter Balkenende, at the recent nuclear security summit. "You know, uh, you've met Jan?" the president says tentatively as the other world leaders stand aside like shy kids at a dance. These are scenes rom the new White House TV feed. When will this man get with the program and stop trying to circumvent the system?

U.S. Said to Allow Drilling Without Needed Permits

The federal Minerals Management Service gave permission to BP and dozens of other oil companies to drill in the Gulf of Mexico without first getting required permits from another agency that assesses threats to endangered species — and despite strong warnings from that agency about the impact the drilling was likely to have on the gulf.

The Federal Fat Police: Bill Would Require Government to Track Body Mass of American Children

A bill introduced this month in Congress would put the federal and state governments in the business of tracking how fat, or skinny, American children are. This was bound to happen. If the government is going to pay for your health care then they feel like they can rule your body as well.
